Do you believe in the death penalty?
Hell yeah. I realize the punishment doesn't act as a deterrent for others but it sure as hell stops that particular individual from committing another crime, and hurting another person.
I wouldn't consider the death penalty in all cases. Drug dealers, people who cheat on their taxes, burglaries, etc, as long as no one else was hurt, that's one thing. But harm a kid, kill a kid, kill another human being and your life is forfeit.
Some argue that it costs less to keep the prisoner alive versus spend the wattage or dosage to kill him or her. But a firing squad is just as adequate… or a hanging.
The point is, there are plenty of people in the world who are just too evil to be alive, because they cause harm to others. They take away others' freedoms (and others' lives). Why should they be allowed to live?
